2012's first batch of Exiles

This year's first batch of Exile skimboards arrived in the store yesterday. This is one of those shipments we wait all winter and spring for because the Exiles are always top notch and truly unmatched. You can see above that this first batch includes 3 Recruits (the orange one with a bump swallow tail), a double carbon with that classic crownball logo, the new Paulo Prietto, and the new Brad Domke 'Aquanaut'.

Stay tuned for plenty more to come with Exile and Surf Shack South this summer, as they'll once again be headlining our Skim Series and will be involved with our skim camps as well, being under the direction of their team rider Kyle Calandra. Summer is quickly coming to an end. With it comes the end of our first annual Surf Shack South Skim Series. We couldn't have been more pleased with how the Series turned out this year. The kids raised the bar each event and the finale (Monday, August 29) gave us the craziest heats of the entire summer. Congrats to all the winners and thanks to everyone for competing this summer. And another thanks to our sponsors, Exile Skimboards and Free2Ride Clothing. Check out all the results and photos below, and see the final season standings at the Skim Series page here. Look for an even bigger Skim Series from the Shack South next summer.

congrats Kyle Calandra

Longtime Shack rider and Exile am rider Kyle Calandra went down to this year's Zap Amateur World Championships and came back with a 4th place in the highly competitive Junior Men's division. Word on the street is Kyle nailed a big 3-shuv off the bat in the final and killed the rest of the heat, but came up a bit short we guess? Either way, good job Kyle. And you can see a ton of Kyle in fellow Shack rider Conor Willem's forthcoming skim movie Stoked Or Die.

some Paulo for your weekend

Exile put together a compilation of leftover footage of Paulo Prietto that was not used in their most recent team skimboarding DVD, Stimulus which is available here at the Shack. If you've yet to see the movie, you need to—it's hands down one of the best skim movies ever. And if you wanna just check out some solid leftover footage, well peep the below clips of Paulo that weren't good enough for the movie (should give you a judge of just how filthy good the guy is).
